Volunteer Screening Process
St. Joseph's Hospice adheres to a strict screening process to ensure the safety of our clients, residents, families and volunteers. Prospective volunteers will be required to:
  • Complete a volunteer application form
  • Provide three references
  • Attend a volunteer interview
  • Submit a current Vulnerable Sector police check
  • Provide proof of driver’s license and auto insurance (for Volunteer Drivers)
  • Sign code of conduct agreement
  • Attend volunteer training
  • Commit to a regular volunteer schedule
  • Make a minimum of a one year commitment
  • Participate in an annual review process
  • If providing professional services such as hair care and massage therapy, be registered with governing college or association 

Volunteer assignments  will depend on the successful completion of all applicable requirements and screening.
