It wasn’t your typical Wednesday night. Light shows, a live auction and top-notch live music replaced the usual dinner and TV routine, as Hospice supporters donned their finest attire and came out for a night to remember.

Chuckee Zehr shared her heartfelt folk music while guests mingled and enjoyed cocktails. It wasn’t long before the rich voices of Western University opera singers filled the crowd, signalling the move into the Crystal Ballroom. As guests enjoyed a delicious meal designed by Best Western chef Nick Gucanin-Gazibaric, emcee Ted Baerg took to the stage to commence the evening’s events. He introduced Erin Kelly Brown, who graciously shared her touching story about her father’s journey with Hospice. Charismatic Auctionista Linda Leja was up next. She led the Fund-A-Need auction, which raised $21,260 thanks to a very generous crowd. The live auction followed, where there were eight exciting packages purchased by an energetic group of bidders, raising an additional $15,650.

Following the auction, the Fire and Ice dessert was brought out in a dramatic flourish of music, haze, and light. Finally, Doug Varty and the Combustibles and Denise Pelley got the crowd singing and moving with their outstanding covers of classic Fire-themed songs. By the end of the night, the impromptu dance floor turned into a mainstay and guests were boogying, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company in what was a wonderful night in support of Hospice. Thank you to all our sponsors, guests, volunteers and talent!
