Grateful Families

Your gratitude gives hope to others

Are you grateful for the care you and your family are receiving at St. Joseph’s Hospice, and want to know how you can share that gratitude?

Gratitude comes in many forms. Whether it’s a thank-you note to staff, sharing a story of impact, giving a gift, or getting involved, your gratitude - in every form - makes a meaningful difference.

A Grateful Family: Tara’s Story

Tara MacIntosh (pictured left) spent just twenty-four hours with her husband Gregor Leithhead at St. Joseph's Hospice London before he passed. It was twenty-four hours in a peaceful space, where both she and Gregor were held and supported. "We were only there for 24 hours, but it had a big impact on us," says Tara. After an 18-month battle with esophageal cancer, Gregor died in December of 2021, leaving behind Tara and twins Benjamin and Abigail, who turned one in January of this year. In honour of the twin's birthday and memory of Gregor, Tara and the twins donated a sleeper sofa to Hospice to help provide a little extra comfort for families in their situation. Tara describes her time at Hospice with Gregor as a gift that holds a special place in her heart. "Hospice makes your experience as peaceful as possible," she says. "If you're looking for a place where people will open their hearts and take care of you while caring for the person you love, Hospice is it."

Your gratitude is a gift.

Thank you for making a difference in the lives of our staff, volunteers, and for those who have yet to experience Hospice.
