At St. Joseph’s Hospice, we walk alongside individuals and families during life’s most difficult moments—offering comfort, dignity, and compassion every step of the way.
Unlike hospitals, hospices receive only partial government funding. We must raise 50% of our annual budget—$1.5 million—through community donations.
Your gift directly supports our Patient and Community Care Fund, helping provide warm meals, grief support, essential equipment, and a peaceful space for families to say goodbye—free of charge.

Major gifts are the foundation of St. Joseph’s Hospice, playing a vital role in both sustaining our day-to-day care and securing the future of our programs. These generous contributions of $5000 or more allow us to expand and enhance the services we offer, invest in the equipment and technology needed to deliver the highest quality care, and provide advanced training to our dedicated team. Major donors also help us maintain and improve our warm, home-like environment—ensuring comfort, dignity, and peace for those we serve. At a time when demand for hospice care is growing, these meaningful gifts are more than generous—they’re crucial building blocks.

As part of our Together in Gratitude campaign, each resident room at St. Joseph’s Hospice features a mural of our St. Joseph’s Gratitude Tree—a quiet symbol of love, memory, and connection.
If you wish to honour someone special with a legacy gift, a personalized leaf can be added to one of these murals in their name with a donation of $10,000 or more. Each leaf serves as a lasting tribute and the impact their life had on others.

When you become a monthly donor, you help ensure that individuals and families facing a life-limiting illness receive the care, comfort, and dignity they deserve—every single day. Your consistent support helps sustain essential programs and services offered at no cost to those in need. Gifts are automatically processed each month, and you can update or cancel your donation at any time. It's an easy way to make a lasting impact, all year long.

Celebrate and commemorate the life of your loved one. Make a gift in their memory or their honour, including accessing donation cards for funerals and celebrations of life.

By donating publicly traded securities, you eliminate the capital gains tax that you’d have to pay if you sold the securities and then donated the proceeds. You’ll also receive a charitable tax receipt for your donation.

*Please note that Hospice cannot accept any physical items or medical equipment as donations. Limited space and infection control regulations prevent us from accepting any donations of this kind.
